Sunny Buddy FAQs

  • Sunny Buddy is a temporary UV exposure indicator.

It changes color when UV rays reach your skin, helping remind you when to reapply sunscreen.

It does not protect from UV— It only provides a visual cue.

    1. Apply to clean, dry skin

    2. Let it fully set (approx. 2-5 min)

    3. Apply sunscreen gently over the tattoo and surrounding skin.

    4. Enjoy the sun while visually tracking UV exposure.

Avoid heavy rubbing when applying sunscreen.

  • Sunny Buddy is temporary and delicate.

It usually lasts a few hours to 1 day, depending on :

    • Sunscreen application

    • Rubbing or scrubbing

    • Water exposure

    • Sweat and friction

If the tattoo is heavily covered with sunscreen rubbed, or washed, it may fade faster or stop reaction properly.

  • It is water-resistant, not waterproof. Swimming, sweating, showering, towel drying or scrubbing can :

    • Shorten its lifespan

    • Reduce its color-change ability

  • Yes—made with non-chemical materials. For senstive skin, test on a small area first.

  • No. Sunny Buddy is a reminder tool, not sun protection. Always use SPF.

  • On a flat, sun-exposed area such as forearm or shoulder, legs and Upper arm.

Avoid areas that rub against clothing, bags, or towels.

  • Mineral (zinc or titanium) sunscreen blocks UV rays before they reach the skin. When using mineral sunscreen, the tattoo may stay purple longer because UV is being physically blocked.

Chemical sunscreen absorbs UV after it enters the skin. Because UV briefly reaches the tattoo before being absorbed, the tattoo may change color sooner.

    • Both types protect your skin.

    • The tattoo simply shows how UV is interacting with the skin surface.

The difference is normal and expected.
